Hungry Belle: Slow Cooker Mac N Cheese

Ever have a craving for comfort food? Sometime this past spring, my mother discovered how to make mac n’ cheese in a slow cooker and has dubbed it the most comforting dish she has ever made. Over the summer, this dish will receive great reviews at any barbecue or other event you have to attend. It goes GREAT with hamburgers, sausages, and baked beans, but it can also be an indulgent side for a lighter meal.

Slow Cooker Mac N’ Cheese

• 2 cups milk
• 12 ounces evaporated milk
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
• 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Spray a 4- to 6-quart crockpot with non-stick cooking spray (bottom and sides). In a bowl, mix all ingredients, then dump into crockpot. Cover and cook on low 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
