How To: Spot A Jerk

We may have some insight in how to find a perfect guy, but one time or another we’ve all fallen under the spell of a jerk! These tips will give any belle the tools she needs when she finds shes racked up quite a few losers in her little black book! This might be easier said than done but not impossible!

Listen: A man will tell you he’s a jerk in the first few sentences he utters to you so if he’s an actual jerk all you have to do is listen! A guy who only talks about himself is one to steer clear of, he’s more than likely a conceited narcissistic pretty boy….otherwise known as a dead end in the dating world. He’s a guy who is not looking to get to know a woman, he wants to use a woman and then claim he did her a favor!

His Friends:  You are who your friends are and while this might not always be true it is more than likely a correct judgment of a guy. If he’s surrounded by rowdy, obnoxious men, he’s probably a rowdy, obnoxious man! Observing how he interacts with his friends, the types of jokes he tells and the macho persona he takes on in their company, will allow you to get a better glimpse of who you’re really dealing with underneath that Ralph Lauren button-down.

His mom: You can always tell how a man will be to a woman by how he treats his mother! If a man is receiving 10 calls from his mom a day and he’s over the drinking age than you can bet your Chanel bag that he’s the ultimate momma’s boy and is just looking for a replacement. Momma’s boys might not be what we would call jerks but they can sometimes be even worse! But of course if a man is rude to his mother or does not respect her, it’s clear he has deeper issues with women and he will not respect you either. Don’t give either of these guys your number, unless you’re a therapist.

Goals: A man’s goals in life will tell you a lot about his character. If a man’s primary goal is to improve himself, his finances or his intelligence then he’s probably a catch. Men who are content with their lives at a horizontal plank tend to be very set in their ways and do not have room for you in their lives. Plus these guys are either boring or just lazy, so again avoid! But a guy with ambition is a guy you might want to get to know better. He’s concerned about the future and is actively working towards maintaining or improving his life. If a guy’s main goal is sleeping with Victoria Secret models steer clear.

Jealousy: A man who calls you every 5 minutes and accuses you of cheating is a jerk! It’s not cute and it’s not endearing, and chances are he’s the guilty one. So listen to your girls on this one when he’s red-handed lying on the bathroom floor singing…“it wasn’t me.”

Mean: A man who is rude or mean to you, or any of your female friends and family, is not the guy for you. If a guy insults you as a way of getting into your pants then it’s probably worked for him many times before, don’t be that girl!

Hope you take these tips into consideration belles! So, the next time you think you caught a Prince make sure he’s not a frog in Gucci loafers!
