Be Happy, Feel Beautiful
Adele not only overflows with talent, but has also managed to capture our hearts with her charm and wit. Those lucky enough to grab tickets to see the 23-year-old starlet live on her U.S. tour, will unfortunately have to get in line and try again later.
The ten shows cancelled were all scheduled for the month of October in the following cities: Atlantic City, NJ, Durham, NC, Nashville, TN, Asheville, NC, Orlando, FL, Miami, FL, Atlanta, GA, Spring, TX, Austin, TX, and Grand Prairie, TX.
Adele’s reps stated on her official website that she was “forced to cancel her upcoming 10 city sold-out tour of the U.S. due to a hemorrhage into her vocal chord.” The British star will be following the advice of doctors and will be taking an extended period of rest to fully recuperate her health. She personally released a blog post on her website mentioning how “heartbroken” she is to have to cancel the shows.
Adele overcame the flu in January of this year, but later developed laryngitis. It seemed as though she had overcome these obstacles by the end of March. In May, however, she felt something was wrong with her voice and had to cancel the Minneapolis show. But her dedication didn’t allow her to cancel the Denver performance scheduled for the following night.
She states in her blog post that she felt as though something had ripped in her throat during the Denver show, but her determination and adrenaline rush forced her to finish the show. She was sent to Los Angeles thereafter and was diagnosed with a hemorrhage in her throat. After a month long rest, she began taking on more and more performances until she developed a respiratory and chest infection, unrelated to her throat problems, in September and was forced to cancel numerous shows. Now, the hemorrhage is back and she needs to take some time to get some beauty rest for that gorgeous voice. Take it girl, we want to hear about you being healthy!
Adele’s has had a quick rise to stardom and we’ve fallen in love with her even faster. Did you know that Adele went to The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology and was a classmate of Leona Lewis? It was a school project that led her to record three demos, which her friend soon posted on Myspace. All the attention on the web soon landed her a meeting with XL Recordings and, soon enough, a manager. Thus far she has two albums out, the first titled 19 and the latter 21, both reflective of her age at the time of recording.
Until we have the chance of seeing her perform again, check out Adele’s official website where you can read her blog to keep up with her latest updates: www.adele.tv
Get well soon, Adele!
