Be Happy, Feel Beautiful

7 Ways to Wear Your Classic T-Shirts

Plain old solid t-shirts, especially the black and white varieties, have long lives in every girl’s closet, which are often reserved for a night of lounging at home or a trip to the gym. However, don’t write them off just yet because these solid tees are perfect for some seriously, chic fall outfits. Here are a few new ways to style them up for comfortable and versatile looks.

With Jeans and a Blazer – This is such an easy and chic combination to run errands or meet up with someone for a casual lunch or movie. The blazer adds sophistication and propriety so that the t-shirt doesn’t look too casual while jeans keep it classic. Just add a scarf or statement necklace with some awesome oxford booties and you are runway ready.

With a Mini Skirt and a Leather Jacket – For those days that your inner punk princess needs to shine through, a t-shirt, mini, leather jacket, and some killer heels is the perfect ensemble for a night on the town or a more casual party. The mini skirt keeps it fun, the leather jacket is a little edgy and covered up, and the heels will make your legs look a mile long. Add some tights for when the night gets chilly.

With a Full Skirt and a Cardigan – This outfit is really fun and simple, but still really put-together and fashion forward. The t-shirt makes a full skirt look effortless while the cardigan adds a pretty retro vibe. It’s perfect for an easy-going girl with an immaculate sense of style and can work in so many situations, especially family events.

With a Maxi Skirt and a Bright Statement Coat – This is the perfect boho chic look for fall and it’s also a great way to transition your summer style. The maxi skirt is stylish without showing a ton of skin, unless you adopt my favourite variant: the sheer black maxi, and is also really whimsical. Try a fitted coat in a mustard, teal, or berry shade for an eye-catching pop.

With Shorts and a Letterman Jacket – If you ever crave an outfit that will help you relive high school, this is it. It’s also the perfect casual, Americana look for running errands or meeting a friend for a movie. The shorts and t-shirt are so easy to find, and letterman jackets aren’t too hard to track down either between chain stores and vintage dives. Wear flats to keep the look feminine or classic Converse sneakers for a more casual look.

With a Skinny Trouser Suit – You will ace any interview in this outfit. The t-shirt will make the chic, tailored trouser suit look a lot less stuffy and a lot more stylish. Try a suit in a bright, whimsical shade like watermelon pink or royal blue. Wear plain black pumps to keep the focus on your suit, but add a statement necklace in classic metals like gold, silver, or gunmetal for added style.
