Comedian Patrice O’Neal Dies from Stroke

Comedian Patrice O Neal, 41, died from complications of a stroke he had in October, on Tuesday morning.

O’Neal’s agent, Matt Frost, confirmed his death and extended his gratitude towards supportive fans and friends.

A Boston native, O’Neal had been in an ongoing and constant battle with diabetes for most of his post-teenage years.

O’Neal made many guest appearances on shows such as “Chappelle’s Show,” “The Office,” “Arrested Development,” “Scary Movie 4,” and “Furry Vengeance.” In addition, he guest starred occasionally on the “Opie and Anthony” show which is aired on Sirius XM Radio.

Co-star Gregg Opie Hughes expressed his grief on Twitter. “Yes, it’s true that our pal Patrice O’Neal has passed away. The funniest and best thinker I’ve ever known PERIOD,” he tweeted.

His last TV appearance was in September when he attended the roast for actor Charlie Sheen.

Sheen expressed the inspiration that O‘Neal gave him. “I only knew him for the few days leading up to the Roast. Yet, I will forever be inspired by his nobility, his grace and his epic talent,” he said.
